Julian Lloyd Webber

My Life with the Elgar Cello Concerto

Perhaps no cellist since Jaqueline DuPré has been so closely associated with the Elgar Cello Concerto as Julian Lloyd Webber, Patron of the Elgar Festival since its founding in 2017.

Webber shares a lifetime of insights and memories about this most profound and personal of concertos, including recollections of important performances, collaborations with conductors and orchestras and adventures in the recording studio. Among Julian’s many recordings is his BRIT Award-winning Elgar Cello Concerto conducted by the English Symphony Orchestra’s former Principal Guest Conductor Yehudi Menuhin – chosen as the ‘finest ever version’ by BBC Music Magazine

Free and open to the public
