The Friends group is being launched this year as part of plans to support and continue the Festival as an annual event in the national music calendar.
The Covid pandemic has hit live performances hard as we know, but there are simple steps that can help to bring back the music, arts heritage, and cultural life that we all want to enjoy.
The Friends of Elgar Festival will do two things – firstly, it will demonstrate the enduring love and interest in Elgar’s life and music, and support quality performances of his music, the music and culture of his era… and beyond. Secondly, it will help directly to support our ethos of Elgar for Everyone, offering accessibility and inclusivity for all, in particular, to provide educational and performance opportunities for young people. …
