2024 marks the 100th anniversary of C V Stanford’ death and the responses for both evensongs are Worcestershire composers. Thomas Tomkins was organist of the cathedral from 1596 to 1649 and Ian King was a Worcestershire composer who sadly passed away in 2020 – his dates are 1962 to 2020. His festival responses were written for the chamber choir.
