The winning composition will be played at the 2024 Elgar for Everyone concert by members of the ESO String section on May 29 2024.
The winner and other finalists will be invited to attend the Gala concert on 1 June 2024

Task
Compose a piece for a solo string instrument. (Key Stage 3 & 4)
Compose a piece for strings, using the standard string quartet format of 2 x violins, viola and cello. (Key Stage 5)
Entry age groups
11 – 16 (Key Stage 3 & 4)
16 – 18 (Key Stage 5)
Length
1- 3 minutes (Key Stage 3 & 4)
3 – 6 minutes (Key Stage 5)
Submission
Scores must be submitted in PDF format.
Recordings must be submitted in MP3, M4a or Wav formats.
