Elgar’s Relaxed Concert

The English Symphony Orchestra were one of the first orchestras in the UK to begin doing regular concerts in care homes and hospices. The impact on the wellbeing of those reached by those hundreds of concerts over nearly two decades is hard to overstate. The ESO team have also worked closely with dementia researchers and care  home staff to develop a huge body of expertise about how to tailor these events to needs of the attendees.

As part of our Elgar for Everyone ethos, our Relaxed Concerts are accessible not only to people living with dementia, but also those with special educational needs, long term health challenges, refugees, and neurodivergent listeners. Elgar is for everyone, and we believe live music has a huge positive impact on everyone who has access to it.

Free and open to the public but advanced booking advised
