Can one musician really do justice to a work originally written for an orchestra of 100 players? They can if their name is David Briggs, whose transcriptions of symphonic masterpieces by Mahler, Vaughan Williams and Elgar have astounded audiences worldwide. Briggs performs his stunning transcription of Elgar’s First Symphony alongside the master’s Organ Sonata and the evocative and beautiful Rhapsody by featured composer Ian Venables.
