‘In Elgar's Footsteps’ guided walk and recital
Last year’s guided walk was so popular it sold out!
We meet at Gardiner’s Quarry car park to enjoy an hour’s guided walk along Elgar’s beloved tracks and footpaths down to St Wulstan’s including the opportunity to visit Eye Well and the Holywell Building on route. Refreshments are available before a short recital at 11.15am featuring his deeply personal String Quartet performed by the exceptional LANO quartet led by last year’s soloist at this event, Shuwei Zuo. There will be time to explore the Elgar family graves before your guide leads the way back. Approx return time 1pm
Please note there are car park charges, payable by card. The walking route is hilly and uneven and we regret no dogs allowed.
Ticket holders who would rather not walk are welcome to book for the recital and refreshments only from 10.45am. There is no designated church car park but on street parking is available.
Access details: There is a steep slope to access the church from the main road
Parking: There is no designated church car park but on street parking is available on Wells Road
