Jiayi Chen

Jiayi Chen, began to learn the piano at the age of 6. She started her professional music study in China, Xinghai Conservatory in 2015, learning from associate professor Ying Long as well as Pengjie Sun, Jingsong Xian, Galyna Popova, Dengbing Gao, Aleksei Kostenko and Tatiana Kostenko.

 

Jiayi started her undergraduate study in Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with scholarship in 2018 where she was taught by visiting piano tutor Jan Loeffler in her first year and Associate Head Of Keyboard Daniel Browell for the next three years.  During her undergraduate study Jiayi enjoyed working with other musicians, and she also successfully held a lunchtime concert in Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in her final year. She received two postgraduate offers – from Royal Northern College of Music with scholarships and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2021 and began studying with Pascal Nemirovski in 2022.

 

In the summer of 2023 Jiayi was invited to take part in Nanjing Youth musician festival as a panel, tutor and a concert pianist and in 2022-2023, she performed a personal series of concerts – “Soundbites” – around UK.
