Elgar Festival Chorus - Rehearsal 4
Thank you all for working so hard at our last rehearsal! I feel we made significant progress on Scene 3 and when we reconvene next month I will be revisiting one or two places in the movement to remind us of the challenges that lie therein. I will particularly work on letter E (p. 45) to letter L (p. 55)
The following is all the housekeeping you will need for our learning of Scene 4. Please ensure that you have all these markings in your scores before the next rehearsal.

Please note all various tempo changes in your copies.
Points to be aware of are Letter G (page 74) where the speed increase is substantive!
Letter O (page 83) is very slow and largely unaccompanied until Bar 267.
Bar 287(page 97) is very quick! Then there is quite a pullback in speed at Letter V (Bar 304)
Just before Letter W (page 91) there is a Lento marking.
Letter Y (top of page 93) suddenly goes to Allegro molto!
See you next month!
